Crickhollow Farm LLC

Established in 2016

Crickhollow Farm sits on about 8.5 acres in Somerset County Maryland.

In 2009 I took a riding lesson as a college freshman at Stockton University and it changed the trajectory of my whole life! Throughout college I rode and worked a few days a week at Split Elm Equestrian in Galloway, NJ. It was here that I learned how I wanted to manage horses.

After earning a Master’s Degree in Animal and Poultry Science from Virginia Tech, my husband and I moved to what is now Crickhollow Farm in 2016. At that time, it was just a house and over-grown land that had been used for row crops. We put up a field and brought my horse home. In 2018 we built the barn and since then have gradually added facilities here and there. On small acreage, good animal husbandry and land stewardship has been essential.

As our family grew, so did the home-herd. In 2022 I earned a Second Level dressage score towards my USDF bronze on a horse named Hokie. I trained Hokie myself under the guidance of several professional trainers. Soon after, I added a young Morgan mare to the mix and realized I enjoyed training and working with young horses.

In 2023 I left my job in commercial poultry which allowed me to have a backyard flock of chickens for the first time. I really enjoyed having chickens and in 2025 I hope to complete the egg rainbow.

Crickhollow in 2025 is already undergoing some big changes that I’m very excited for. Stay tuned for more!
